Samanvay, rooted in the Sanskrit words “Sama” (सम) for ‘same’ or ‘equal,’ and “Anvay” (अन्वय) for ‘connection’ or ‘convergence,’ represents the harmonious integration of diverse perspectives and expertise to strive towards a shared objective collectively.
Samanvay signifies the convergence and oneness of various stakeholders, resources, and initiatives in the Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) context to accomplish a shared vision of inclusive, sustainable, and equitable rural development for tribal and vulnerable communities.
Samanvay, BRLF’s annual event, aims to nurture a collective space for reflective multi-stakeholder dialogue focused on critical issues and opportunities in India’s rural development landscape. We strive to nurture an emerging space for vibrant collaborations, shared learnings, and collective commitments to shared visions and innovative pathways to inclusive and sustainable livelihoods in tribal geographies, where systemic challenges often hinder equitable development.
At Samanvay, we celebrate the collective wisdom, joy, and fortitude of tribal knowledge, culture, and practices, which are crucial to achieving India’s sustainable development goals. We acknowledge and celebrate this embodied wisdom of equity, inclusion, and harmony in weaving strategies for resilience and regeneration in sustainable livelihood initiatives. Through shared experiences and co-learning, BRLF hopes to inspire participants to incorporate these cultural insights into their development frameworks, ensuring that tribal perspectives remain central in discussions about rural transformation.
